oxford energy partners llp (oep) is an acquisition vehicle aimed at upstream oil & gas assets, initially in asia. oep is planning to take direct equity in oil & gas blocks alongside quality management teams. focused on what we call stalled oil & gas plays – that is, commercial discoveries that have not progressed due to the industry's traditional risk management model of joint operating agreements having broken down during the past five years. today there are a number of high quality projects that are robust at low gas & oil prices, but are stalled because the operator has too high an equity interest, has diluted down to a now-financially weak partner or is a company strategically retrenching from international operations in favour of domestic opportunities. we have identified opportunities for a third party to invest in these stalled plays, thereby unlocking significant value, and have designed proprietary screens of assets globally to identify projects that can readily be kick-starte
