qavvik environmental ltd. is a team of environmental professionals and inuit associates offering arctic expertise in a wide range of disciplines, including both terrestrial and marine wildlife inventory and research, aquatics (fish and fish habitat), vegetation ecology, soils and terrain, traditional knowledge, and geographic information systems (gis). our senior wildlife biologist’s first venture into the arctic was in 1972 as a member of a team to survey the porcupine caribou herd, part of the environmental assessment for the proposed mackenzie valley gas pipeline. since 2003, members of our team have been individually and collectively conducting wildlife baseline, habitat assessments and monitoring surveys for mining projects in the kivalliq and kitikmeot regions of nunavut, nwt and the yukon.
