climate change has made natural disasters like floods, tsunamis, typhoons and earthquakes more frequent and more unpredictable. and they mostly impact people in asia and africa, where the infrastructure to save lives is poor. qresq provides an actionable dashboard to authorities to save lives. we use live satellite data in regions where roads are few and maps are useless, to show where the water is and where the safe areas are. we combine it with locations of cell phones from cell towers, to show where people are. and we add a layer of data from social and digital media, with pictures and information so up-to-the-minute local knowledge is useful too. if you want to know where the technology magic is - we use machine learning to identify remote objects and people, and to suggest how credible and urgent a social signal is. but customers don't need to deal with that. we designed it so that authorities can use it for preventing disasters and not just coping with them. and we offe
