quakecon is a free convention held yearly in the dallas, tx area. thousands of computer gamers from all over the world make the pilgrimage to play with their friends on a giant gaming network, see the latest cool technology, and compete in world class tournaments. almost entirely run by volunteers, quakecon is a huge party for every sort of computer gamer, from the hobbyist to the hardcore. often described as the woodstock of gaming, quakecon is "4 days of peace, love, and rockets." the quakecon organization is the team of volunteers that join with id software to create the quakecon event.
