for the last 25 years qualitetch have excelled in the creation of customer specific manufacturing solutions. this has been achieved through effective development and utilisation of our expanding range of manufacturing and technical capabilities. the photo etching process, also known as chemical etching, acid etching or photo chemical machining (pcm) process, is a manufacturing method used to cut flat sheet metal profiles quickly, accurately and cost effectively. the process also has added benefits in that the manufacturing method is a completely burr free process the accuracy achievable with the photo etching process is extremely competitive with other methods, with tolerances starting at +-0.010mm depending on the material type and thickness and features can also be positioned to an accuracy of +-5 microns. the hardness of the material is not a factor for etching as we can either etch very hard tool steels or annealed substrates. design changes are very easy to rectify with the photo
