Quarter Fund

the quarter fund is, an untainted, optimistic group of twenty-somethings, ready to get their hands dirty in an exploration of philanthropy. incidentally, as we are beginning to realize, philanthropy isn’t really all that dirty. we meet four times a year in the highly sanitary conditions of the local breweries, where over the course of a round of beers and most likely a basket of fries, we make a $500 grant and a commitment to volunteer for a morning with a boulder county nonprofit. each quarter we shift our nonprofit focus – basic needs might be one quarter, and environmental concerns might be another – so that members are constantly exposed to new missions and new perspectives. in making investment decisions with our time and hard-earned dollars, we hope to discover those causes which truly inspire us to throw caution to the wind and give like we’ve never given before (which we really haven’t).
