quartz oa is a bold proposal for a new platform cooperative that brings new channels of funding and support for independent open access academic publishing. we seek to create an ecosystem that would help retain the value in the hands of the academic community and re-distribute the flows of funding fairly and transparently among its members. we believe in the power of collective approaches to a sustainable, fair, and inclusive transition to open access publishing. we also share the opinion that the existing roles and power distribution within the academic publishing ecosystem need to be re-imagined and join the calls for the return of academic publishing into the hands of academics. join us in transforming the scholarly communications ecosystem and get in touch to learn how you can contribute!
