wouldn’t it be cool if text messages were hipaa compliant? i think every nurse and doctors would be texting patient info all the time if they could. radiologists would text referring physicians critical results. same with pathologists. er docs would text neurosurgeons and cardiologists and send x-ray pics to ortho. heck, i’d text my buddy matt a picture of that cecal mass i just found on colonoscopy along with the patient info so his staff could schedule a consult right away. then we’d coordinate a happy hour later next week. if text messages were hipaa compliant, they’d be mostly all we needed to coordinate most of the important stuff. we’d ditch our ditch our pagers. nurses would get in on the action, too. need some tylenol? text it. patient change in status? text it. need to rant about the annoying family in room 114? it’s safe to text that, too. after all, text messages are the fastest way to get the answers, orders and conversations that you need to be having. if you could be te
