Queen's College, Guyana

queen's college is the premier secondary school in guyana. established in 1844 as the most prestigious institution of higher learning in the then colony of 'british guiana', it retains that distinction today - with most of guyana's acclaimed scholars, intellectuals, authors, and scientists counting the school as their alma mater. it is the most selective secondary school in the country, with only the top performers at the national grade six assessment (ngsa) (formerly known as 'common entrance exams') able to gain admission. students can also gain admission at the 6th form level if their academic performance at the caribbean secondary education certificate (csec) examinations is similarly high. it is located at the intersection of camp street and thomas lands in georgetown.
