sbh queensland supports over 600 people with spina bifida and their families in queensland. the first contact is often from worried parents anxious for information after having been told that the baby they are expecting has spina bifida. another family may need a home visit from a therapist to give them a program to improve their child’s development . an education adviser and therapist may be asked to visit a school to give advice on ways to help the child learn and to take part in all of the school’s activities. when children grow up they may call sbh queensland themselves to ask for support to live independently or find work.
