barnswallows (087-138 npo, pbo 930037045), opened in november 2009, in the home of its directors, rené testa & monique du plessis. it has provided a temporary place of safety for 47 babies to date. since opening its doors, we have expanded by launching a satellite baby shelter, swallows nest, in 2014 & later launching a special needs education & development facility, swift academy, in 2015 swallows nest we are passionate about caring for & rehabilitating abused & abandoned babies. their immediate needs are not only to be fed, clothed & cared for, but to be loved, cherished & gently guided into a positive, hopeful future where they can contribute significantly to their own communities & society as a whole. we are helping to put a stop to the cycle of abandonment & neglect in these children’s lives, by loving & protecting every child that enters our doors – & by giving these precious children a strong moral foundation which will serve them into their adult years. above & beyond care-givi
