tra.vis is a future focused magazine with the aim to provide readers with a relatable stories and safe spaces where conversations and community can be created. the inaugural issue looks through the eyes of black creatives who express themselves in alternative ways. the editorials are candid, expressive, and inspirational, trail blazing new pathways through which those sitting outside the norm can find care, joy, representation, and validation. travis williams, the creator, and instigator of the magazine, kickstarts the empowerment process by articulating the challenges he experienced in his own upbringing, which was the baseline inspiration for issue one. candidly sharing his own struggles with a culture, body and ethnicity that sits outside of the norm, travis charismatically provides the confidence and springboard for others to share their unique expressions of self.
