لجنة السلامة المرورية بالمنطقة الشرقية " السلامة المرورية " بمفهومها الواسع تهدف إلى تبني سلوك السلامة على الطريق بوضع كافة الخطط والبرامج التعليمية والهندسية والطبية واللوائح المرورية والإجراءات الوقائيه للحد من الحوادث ومنع آثارها السلبية، وضمان سلامة الإنسان وممتلكاته والحفاظ على أمن البلاد ومقوماته البشرية والإقتصادية ولهذه الأسباب، تم تأسيس لجنة السلامة المرورية بالمنطقة الشرقية بمبادرة من أرامكو السعودية، وبرئاسة صاحب السمو الأمير جلوي بن عبد العزيز بن مساعد، نائب أمير المنطقة الشرقية، والذى أكد سموه على أهمية تأسيس اللجنة كونها انشأت بهدف الحد من الإرتفاع المتزايد لعدد الوفيات وإصابات الحوادث المرورية والذى أصبح هاجساً يؤرق المجتمع ككل ، مستشهدا بالإحصائيات المنشورة من الجهات الرسمية وتشمل اللجنة أعضاء من جميع الجهات الحكومية المعنية بالسلامة المرورية والتي تساهم في تحقيق الهدف الرئيسي للحد من الحوادث الجسيمة في المنطقة الشرقية مهام اللجنة تتمثل أهم مهام اللجنة بـ: • إعداد خطة إستراتيجية للسلامة المرورية للمنطقة الشرقية وتنفيذها خلال الخمس السنوات القادمة • تخفيض الخسائر في الأر
