as covid-19 upended our personal lives through most of 2020, it also revealed the increased need for mental health access and awareness. furthermore, mental health in our communities is a more common issue than most people think. a report published by the u.s. department of health stated that 1 in 5 americans have experienced mental health issues. with the frequency of mental health and the barriers brought forth by the pandemic, now is the time to increase access, educate and develop a resource for the ascension parish community. u matter ascension is looking at new and innovative technology to increase mental health access and awareness in the ascension parish community. our mission is to improve mental health awareness for all individuals and families in ascension parish through education, support, and advocacy. our goal is to develop a mental health digital resource that can be utilized by all individuals, families, and stakeholders within our community.
