xact (a product of schmitt industries, inc.) is in the business of providing customers with exact propane tank fill level information for all sizes of tanks at any location. xact uses a patented ultrasonic sensor to provide tank fill level measurements that are transmitted with a satellite network, directly to a desktop computer, pda or cell phone via the internet. how it works: the ultrasonic sensor - the xact patented sensor is externally mounted on the bottom of a propane tank. it sends an ultrasonic signal through the wall of the tank and reads the return echo from the surface of the liquid propane. using an xact high accuracy electronic device to capture the echo, the distance from the bottom of the tank to the surface of the liquid is calculated and accurately reported into the xact system. the satellite radio transmitter - using the globalstar® satellite system, the tank measurement level data is beamed to a satellite, relayed to a globalstar® earth station, and then sent throug
