xdjs is bringing the artist into the listening experience. we want listeners to care about the artists behind the music. current music apps don't foster this connection; most listeners start a playlist or station, then switch tasks while the music continues in the background. with only cover art to go on, the listener doesn't get a sense of who the artist is, what they're about, or why they're interesting. so we're building crush.fm, an app that weaves the artist's online presence into the listening experience. crush.fm's core technology is living liner notes, which generates visual stories about what the artists behind the music are doing on twitter, soundcloud, and other networks. are they releasing a remix? enjoying new music? tweeting with other artists and fans? posting photos from the studio? sharing videos on tour? crush.fm makes it part of the listening experience.
