Xsclobber - Online Auctions the Way You Remember

the official groundhog/heghog/marmot day soft-launch of the xsclobber online auction. the site is now live. simply put, we think, as millions of others do, that online auctions have taken a horrendous path to the dark side. they suck. they're terrible. they're nothing more than online stores for people too cheap to lease a real brick and mortar storefront. we long for the good old days when people with excess stuff in their basement could sell it to other people who think that stuff is gold and who can't find it at a reasonable price anywhere else. everybody wins. what could be better than that? for the foreseeable future we'll be keeping the site free for everyone. we hope we'll never have to charge anything. the worst that might happen is we'll have to accept advertising banners to pay for bandwidth (but those are pretty easy to ignore so it won't be the end of the world for anyone) or perhaps we might have to charge a bit for highlighting and that sort of extra. we'll put it t
