america's favorite gay youth magazine. since 1995, xy magazine has been the voice of gay youth, championing the lives, the liberties, the loves, the lusts, the libidos of gay youth. now, 16 years later, we are excited to start a new chapter for xy magazine, with a relaunch of the website and relaunch of the magazine in 2011. xy is the alternative. like our readership, the magazine embraces content that resonates with gay youth in 2011—controversial, opinionated, ironic, flirty, and energetic. presented to highschoolers, college students, the newly employed and anyone young-at-heart, xy thrives on a refreshingly honest approach to the stale same-old-same-old world of gay pop culture. xy captures the spirit of youth. we are playful, queer, sexy, and edgy. unlike other gay magazines, xy doesn’t report news or dryly express popularly held assumptions on queer politics—we share stories, taunt homophobia, explore politics, question cultural mores, and skewer with satire.
